Maryland’s Poured Out manage to straddle a fence few do very well. On their new release Blind Heart, they draw from the very best of metalcore, standard issue hardcore breakdowns, and moments of textured post-hardcore musicality and surprising rhythms without the need to show off their technical prowess. The result is straight forward heaviness with nicely timed curveballs that don’t feel forced. All in all a solid, heavy release from a newer band worth taking notice of.
